MediPOS vs SadaHisab: which is better for a pharmacy in 2026?

MediPOS vs SadaHisab is a comparison many pharmacy owners make, because SadaHisab ranks high when you search for pharmacy software in Pakistan. Both are Pakistani, both keep a customer khata and report to FBR, and both publish their prices. They differ in three ways that matter at a medical store counter: SadaHisab runs only in the cloud, it charges a setup fee of Rs 40,000 or more, and its expiry tracking starts from its third plan. MediPOS runs offline on the shop PC or in the cloud, has no setup fee, and tracks batch and expiry on every plan.

The short answer

For a pharmacy, MediPOS costs far less in the first year and includes the pharmacy work on every plan:

• One shop with batch and expiry tracking, first year: MediPOS Offline Rs 12,000, or Cloud Rs 25,000. SadaHisab Professional (the first plan with expiry tracking) Rs 72,000 plus a setup fee from Rs 40,000: Rs 112,000 or more.
• Its cheapest plan, first year: SadaHisab Starter Rs 21,600 plus the setup fee, at least Rs 61,600, for one user and without batch or expiry tracking. MediPOS Basic includes three users, batches and expiry for Rs 12,000 on Offline.
• Billing without internet: the MediPOS Windows app runs on the shop PC with no internet. SadaHisab is cloud based, and its pricing page offers no offline option.
• Medicines ready on day one: MediPOS comes with 45,000+ Pakistani medicines from the DRAP register. SadaHisab's website mentions no medicine list.
• FBR: included in every MediPOS plan. SadaHisab prices FBR and PRA integration by the number of invoices.

Price in PKR: what you pay in the first year

SadaHisab has four plans, billed monthly; paying for a year costs twelve months, with no discount:

• Starter: Rs 1,800 a month. One user.
• Standard: Rs 4,200 a month. One user; adds batch management, full udhaar and branches.
• Professional: Rs 6,000 a month. Two users; adds expiry tracking.
• Enterprise: price on request.

On top of every plan there is a one-time setup fee "starting from 40,000 PKR". An extra user is Rs 1,000, an extra branch Rs 4,200 on Standard or Rs 6,000 on Professional, and FBR and PRA integration is priced by invoice volume: Rs 1,000 for 150 invoices, Rs 2,000 for 450, Rs 3,000 for 1,000.

MediPOS Offline runs on your own shop PC: Basic is Rs 12,000 a year for up to 3 users and 2 PCs, and Standard Rs 20,000 a year for up to 10 users and 5 PCs. MediPOS Cloud runs in the browser: Basic Rs 2,500 a month or Rs 25,000 a year, and Standard Rs 5,500 a month or Rs 55,000 a year for up to three branches. There is no setup fee, and batch and expiry tracking are in every plan.

Offline or cloud

Load-shedding and weak lines are why many pharmacies want their billing on the shop PC. The MediPOS Offline edition installs on the shop's Windows PC with its own database. Counter PCs connect over the shop network, and billing, stock, udhaar and printing need no internet. The Cloud edition is there for owners who want several branches in one account.

SadaHisab describes itself as cloud based, with a "Mobile View" in the browser. Its pricing page offers no desktop or offline option, so the counter needs the internet to bill.

Medicines, batches and expiry

MediPOS comes with 45,000+ Pakistani medicines from the DRAP register, with brand, generic (salt), strength, form and manufacturer. A new shop picks what it stocks instead of typing a list; you can try the search. Every plan records batch and expiry on each purchase, sells the batch that expires first, and blocks expired batches at the counter. The expiry dashboard shows what expires in 7, 30, 60 and 90 days, with its value.

SadaHisab lists multi-unit packaging on every plan, batch management from Standard, and expiry tracking only on Professional and Enterprise. Its website does not mention a preloaded medicine list, selling the earliest expiry first, or blocking expired stock.

Schemes, udhaar and the books

MediPOS spreads distributor bonus schemes (10+1), discounts, tax and freight into the landed cost of every medicine, so profit reports are right. Customer udhaar has credit limits and statements, and supplier payables, purchase returns and double-entry books (cash book, day book, profit and loss, balance sheet) are included.

SadaHisab is an ERP with accounts, and lists "basic" udhaar on Starter and full udhaar from Standard. Its website does not mention bonus schemes.

Where SadaHisab is ahead

• Lower entry price per month: Rs 1,800 against Rs 2,500 for MediPOS Cloud Basic, although the setup fee comes first.
• PRA as well as FBR: it lists integration with the Punjab Revenue Authority as well as FBR, for businesses that also charge Punjab sales tax on services.
• Six years of backups: it keeps "6 years backup as per FBR / PRA regulations" in every plan.
• A general ERP: if the same company runs other kinds of business, one ERP may cover them.
