Oscar POS alternative for pharmacies: 5 options with published prices (2026)

An Oscar POS alternative is what pharmacy owners look for when they cannot get two straight answers from Oscar's website: what it costs, and whether it bills without internet. Oscar has a strong pharmacy page, with FEFO, tablet, strip and box, expiry alerts and branch transfers. But its pricing page did not load when we checked, and its Pakistani pages describe "one cloud POS" without saying it works offline. It is also built for retail and restaurants first.

Here are five alternatives that publish their prices, each checked on its own website on 27 September 2026.

• Price: published: Offline Rs 12,000 a year; Cloud Rs 2,500 a month; up to three branches with the owner app for Rs 5,500 a month.
• Offline: the Offline edition runs on the shop's Windows PC and its counter PCs, with no internet needed for daily work.
• Medicines: 45,000+ Pakistani medicines from the DRAP register preloaded.
• Expiry and money: the earliest expiry sold first and expired batches blocked; distributor schemes in the landed cost; udhaar with credit limits; FBR in every plan; a 14-day free trial.

Mint POS: offline Windows POS with a public price

• Price: Rs 2,499 a month billed yearly, or Rs 3,499 month to month (mintpos.pk).
• Offline: a Windows installer with a local database.
• For a pharmacy: box, strip or tablet, batch numbers and an expiry dashboard. A medicine list and udhaar are not stated.

TransactFlow: low price, offline, expired stock blocked

• Price: Rs 1,500 a month, or Rs 2,000 with the Android app (transactflow.pk).
• Offline: says it works "100% offline" and syncs later.
• For a pharmacy: box, strip and tablet; blocks the sale of expired medicines; khata and udhaar.

Posify: offline on Windows or Linux

• Price: Rs 2,500 a month, or Rs 25,000 a year (posify.pk).
• Offline: "Core billing works 100% offline".
• For a pharmacy: batch and expiry with FIFO deduction and near-expiry alerts; also covers grocery, restaurants and boutiques.

Moneypex: a medicine list, online

• Price: Rs 2,500 a month, or Rs 27,000 a year, with extra users, branches and FBR charged separately (moneypex.com/pk).
• Medicines: "25,000+ Pre-Loaded Medicines".
• Offline: its pharmacy page does not mention it.

The five against Oscar

If you are still considering Oscar: five questions to ask

Oscar may still suit you, especially if your pharmacy sits beside a café or a general store. Before you sign, get these answers in writing:

1. What is the total price for a year? Include every counter, every branch, the mobile app and FBR integration, and any setup or training fee.
2. Does billing continue with the internet unplugged? Ask for a demo with the cable out: bill, return and print, then reconnect and check that nothing was lost or sent twice to FBR.
3. Do I type in my medicines? If there is no preloaded list, count the hours to enter your shelf with salts, strengths and pack sizes.
4. How are distributor schemes handled? Receive a 10+1 bill and check the cost of one tablet afterwards.
5. How do I get my data out? Make sure medicines, stock, udhaar and supplier balances export to Excel, so you are never locked in.
