MediPOS can tell you once a day how your pharmacy is doing, even when you are not at the shop: the day's sales, and what needs doing. The owners get it by email with the details, and by SMS as a short message with the numbers. It works for the Cloud edition and for the Offline edition on your shop PC.
Daily alerts are part of some plans (SMS & email alerts). If you do not see Daily alerts in Settings, or it says they are not in your plan, the owner can check what each plan includes under Plan & billing.
What the alerts say
Each alert covers all your branches:
- Sales: the day's sales and the number of bills.
- To reorder: how many medicines are at or below their reorder level, or sold out while still selling, with the first few names.
- Expired on the shelf and Expiring within 30 days: how many batches, and their value at cost.
- Supplier bills overdue: how many, and how much.
- Udhaar: what customers owe you, and how many are over their credit limit.
- Shifts: shifts open for more than 12 hours, which someone probably forgot to close.
A typical SMS: MediPOS Al-Noor Pharmacy 29 Sep: Sales Rs 45,200 (38 bills), 12 to reorder, 3 expired, 2 supplier bills overdue Rs 80,000.
Switch them on
Only someone with the Manage settings permission can do this.
- Go to Administration → Settings → Daily alerts (in the Windows app, the Daily alerts part of Settings).
- Tick Email me the day's alerts, and Send them by SMS too if you want a text message as well.
- Send at: the hour they go, on your pharmacy's clock. 9:00 PM suits most pharmacies: the day's sales are nearly complete.
- Under What to include, untick anything you do not want.
- Click Save.
Who gets them
The owners of the pharmacy, at the email address and mobile number of their MediPOS account. Settings shows who they go to. To change the email or mobile, the owner changes it under My account. Alerts never go to staff, and MediPOS never sends them to any other number.
On the Offline edition
Your data stays on your shop PC. At the hour you chose, the PC works out the day's alerts and hands them to MediPOS online, which sends the email and SMS. So the PC needs internet at that hour; if it has none, it tries again every hour for the rest of the day. The SMS service's password stays with MediPOS online and is never on your PC.
How often, and how many SMS
Alerts go once a day. Each plan has a number of SMS a month for each pharmacy (usually one a day); when they are used up, the email still goes. MediPOS keeps a record of every SMS it sends.
Common questions
I switched alerts on but got nothing.
Check that the hour you chose has passed today, that the owner's MediPOS account has an email address (and a mobile for SMS), and on the Offline edition that the PC had internet. Look in the spam folder for the email.
Can a staff member get the alerts?
Not at present. They go to the owners only. Staff see the same numbers on the dashboard when they sign in.
Does the SMS cost me anything?
The SMS are included in plans that have SMS & email alerts, up to the monthly number.
